Families interested in school of choice will first need to submit a school of choice application and be approved for enrollment before following these steps. Applications can be found during the open enrollment period at the Hartland Consolidated School District Enrollment Webpage.

The following information is geared toward families who live within the Hartland Consolidated School District or whom have already been approved for school of choice.

To enroll a new student at Hartland High School you will need to gather the following information:

PROOF OF RESIDENCY – Purchase agreement, utility bill showing service in our district, certificate of occupancy, rent receipt or agreement, mortgage receipt, construction agreement, voter’s registration with current address or driver’s license with current address or letter from district indicating that you have been approved for school of choice enrollment.

ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE WITH A SEAL

IMMUNIZATION RECORDS – Students are now required by law to have begun the Hepatitis B Vaccine, have two doses of Varicella (Var) vaccine or history of chicken pox disease, one dose of meningococcal vaccine and one dose of Tdap if 5 years have passed since last dose.

PROOF OF AN EYE EXAMINATION – This is usually given when a student begins school as a kindergartner.

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT or COPIES OF HIGHSCHOOL REPORT CARDS– If your child is a 10th, 11th or 12th grader, we will need proof of courses completed from the school he/she is coming from.

SPECIAL EDUCATION – if your child is receiving special education services, we MUST be provided with a copy of his/her current IEP either before or on the day of enrollment into Hartland High School.

Once these documents have been gathered, please call the Hartland High School Counseling Office at 810-626-2225 to schedule an appointment with a counselor. At the enrollment appointment, parents will be given a registration packet to complete while photo copies are made of the required documents listed above. The new student(s) and accompanying parents will sit down with a Hartland High School counselor to review the supplied transcript as well as discuss graduation requirements and timelines. Students will be choosing courses to be taken at Hartland High School and may be able to begin courses immediately following the enrollment appointment if school is in session.
