Mrs. Erickson's A.P. Composition
REQUIRED SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS
for upcoming HHS Juniors enrolled for the
2012 - 2013 School Year
I congratulate you on taking on the challenge of A.P. Composition.
I hope you find the class meaningful and enlightening.
Because of the deep and concentrated nature of the course, it is essential that you complete both summer assignments. The assignments are intended to acquaint you with the types of works we will be studying and the approaches we will be employing in analyzing such works.
Both parts (I and II) are required assignments; they are NOT optional.
Please read the information carefully, so you do not miss anything.
You will read one novel (chosen from a specific list) and complete practice English grammar exercises.
There is a writing assignment for the required reading of Part I, to be completed in the form of six blog postings.
A related additional testing activity will be completed - for both Parts I & II - on the very first day of school.
All the information you need to complete both assignments is included below.

These completed - and correct - worksheets are due - without exception - the very first day of school.
While these worksheets are extremely detailed with instruction, A "Questions (from students) and Answers (from teacher)" Blog will also be available for this assignment, as you will complete a test over the material on the very first day of school.
