This 2010 - 2011 school year is my eleventh year teaching high school English - all of them spent in Hartland. This year is my seventh year teaching the A.P. Composition classes.
I graduated in 1997 with a B.S. in Written Communication, focus on Technical Writing and Public Relations from Eastern Michigan University. I also earned minors in Communication and Dance. I worked, professionally, in the field of public relations for about a year and a half. I then returned to EMU to earn a secondary teaching certificate in English and Speech, graduating in 2000.
While completing my undergraduate work at EMU, I spent one year as a member of the EMU Dance Team, and several years involved in performances featured by the dance department.
I have also gone on to complete a graduate degree in curriculum development.
Since my involvement with the A.P. program in Hartland, I have completed two College Board certification programs in A.P. English Language and Composition.
I became a new mother last May.
