College Admission Tests
Most four-year colleges and some community (junior) colleges require a test for admission. The two commonly known tests are the ACT and the SAT.
All Michigan colleges will accept the results of the ACT for admission, although some prefer the SAT. All Juniors will take the ACT in March as part of the Michigan Merit Exam (MME). Many students choose to take the ACT more than once; either prior to taking it in March with the MME and/or after taking the MME. The ACT is offered six times a year. If a student is planning to take the ACT more than once, it is recommended to take it during the Junior year or no later than the first test date in the fall of their senior year. These dates are for prime consideration for the State of Michigan financial aid. The other test dates of the year may be used for admission and residual financial aid from the state, but a student is likely to lose out on financial aid if the test is taken too late.
FOR ALL COLLEGE TESTING
THE HARTLAND HIGH SCHOOL CODE IS 231-900
Students considering an East Coast college should take the SAT in the spring of their Junior year or the first test date in the fall of their Senior year. To register for the ACT or SAT, please visit the following websites for further information and test dates.

SAT – www.collegeboard.com
Applications for the tests are also available in the HHS Career Center beginning in the late summer for the up-coming test year. Registration deadlines are approximately one month before each test date.
