Newspaper awarded Superior rating

Eagle staff members received numerous awards from the Southern Interscholastic Press Association (SIPA) on March 3, 2006. This association covers a regional area of 13 states and includes publications and advisers that are among the top in the nation.  Papers are subject to ratings in numerous categories such as writing, coverage, design, and photography.  Papers are given a rating of Merit, Excellent, Superior, and All-Southern.  The Eagle received a Superior rating over all and the following individual ratings:

 

Sports  - Superior

Features - Excellent

Opinion - Superior

News - Superior

Advertising - Superior

Editing - Superior

Overall Visuals - Superior

Reader Services - All Southern!!!

2006 awards

All smiles.  On Tuesday, April 25, six Hartland High School newspaper students traveled to Lansing to participate in the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association awards ceremony and state competitions.  Competing against 78 schools and over 2,000 entries, The Eagle staff received the following awards:
