Kate graduated from Hartland High School in 1998. She began her teaching career at HHS in 2002. She spent 8 years teaching all levels of math to high school students. During that time, she completed her masters degree in curriculum and instruction. In the fall of 2009, she had the opportunity to take on an administrative internship and become the Dean of Students at the high school. Two years later she was moved into an Assistant Principal role. At that time, she earned her administrative certificate. Kate spent five years as an assistant principal. Currently, she is in her fourth year as the Hartland High School principal.

Jason graduated from Pinckney High School in 1992. He attended Lake Superior State University where he was a member of the wrestling team. Jason enlisted in the Army in 1994. He served in many different roles throughout his service, ending his Army career as a Captain in 2003. After a year working as a Project Manager in the private sector, Jason came to Hartland Consolidated Schools in 2005. Jason has served as the Maintenance Supervisor, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and now is in his fourth year as an Assistant Principal at Hartland High School.

Emily graduated from Preble High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2002 before heading to the UP for her undergraduate degree. She began her teaching career in 2006 at a charter school on the eastside of Detroit before hearing of a science opening at Hartland High. She was hired in 2007 to teach all levels of chemistry, including co-teaching, and spent 8 years teaching chemistry. While teaching, Emily coached the Science Olympiad team and was part of the development of the KLAA Math and Science Olympics competition before taking a leave of absence to move to Japan. In the spring of 2017, she was given the opportunity to take on an administrative internship and was named the Dean of Students of Hartland High School for two years. Emily is now an Assistant Principal at HHS.

Tom graduated in 1999 from Swartz Creek High School, in Swartz Creek, Michigan. After earning his undergraduate degree, he began his teaching career in 2004 in Mt. Morris Consolidated School district as an elementary physical education teacher. While in Mt. Morris, Tom also taught high school physical education and health, worked as a restorative justice coordinator, online learning coordinator, and assistant principal. After 14 years, Tom left Mt. Morris to become the principal of Morrice Jr/Sr High School in Morrice, MI. Tom is now an Assistant Principal at Hartland High School.

JD graduated in 1997 from Laker High School in Pigeon Michigan. After earning his degree and playing baseball for Central Michigan University, JD briefly played in the minor leagues for the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He began his career in education teaching physical education at Grand Blanc High School in the fall of 2005. In addition to teaching at Grand Blanc for 10 years, JD was also the Varsity Baseball coach for 9 years. Currently JD is serving on Hartland High School’s administrative team as the Athletic Director, a role that he has been in since the fall of 2015.
